Cast Iron is a podcast all about rock and heavy metal, hosted by Lewis Clark and yours truly. We take you on a musical tour of albums old and new: it’s part history, part criticism (mostly thoughtful).
I recently built a beautiful new home for Cast Iron – light years ahead of the old Tumblr! – that will serve us for years into the future and reduce the friction of production, so we can focus on having fun conversations and delivering new episodes. It’s amazing how much technical debt even a simple podcast can accrue. The lessons I’ve learned on revamping Cast Iron will also apply to the Split Screen podcast, which I still publish by manually updating the RSS feed.
